Charlottetown, the provincial capital, a colonial port is well designed with tree-lined streets and rows of wooden frame houses. Main attractions include the Province House, a beautiful Georgian building Nova Scotia sandstone, the site of the 1864 discussions that led to Canadian Confederation and the Confederation Centre, which houses art galleries, theaters, a restaurant and a museum.
