Some 20 minutes drive from the Confederation Bridge, Thunder Cove is located in the interior of Prince Edward Island past Summerside and Kensington. Mostly known for its dazzling white beaches, extravagant vacation homes and less population, Thunder Cove beaches are visited by tourists from over the world. Close to the water, the beachfront extends for miles along the waterline of St. Lawrence Gulf. Birding:
This area is ecologically sensitive because it is the nesting site of a globally vulnerable species of bird called Pipling Plover and other sorts of ducks and geese that migrate here during the autumn.
