Basin Head Provincial Park

Located within the Points East Coastal Drive touring region, the Basin Head Provincial Park provides brilliant sandy beach, coupled with adventurous hiking facilities on the rugged hills that surround the beach. The park has a supervised beach and there is staffing unit to take care of all your needs. During its heydays, the Basin Head was used as a fishing harbor. The natives of the island still earn their living through fishing. Harboring just beside the beach, are hills that are filled with rich vegetation and lots of migrating sea birds. You can go hiking through the vegetations and the muddy ponds through some of the pathways that pave right through the landscape.

Right beside the beach you will find beautiful 1.5 storied cottages that are nestled amidst the woods that overlook Basin Head river system and the beautiful sand dunes. These cottages can be booked right on the spot and include facilities such as a living room, kitchen, large bedrooms and bathrooms with laundry and a sitting area overlooking the sea.

Owing to its rich past, this provincial park holds a museum that houses many paintings, sculptures, transcripts and much more. The warmer months invite tourists from all over the globe, who come to bathe in the rich sunshine that is constant in most of the seasons. During the night, the mild sea breeze provides an ideal atmosphere to dine out near the shoreline. This amazing place has just about everything to keep you occupied all day long, but most importantly, it offers you relaxation like nowhere else.
